About Us

“DriftWoodOnline.com is one of the leading gaming magazines online, and our focus runs the gamut of the gaming industry. So does our staff. Our team includes a diverse range of members, such as game journalists, developers, creators and people who’ve cut their teeth in the publishing industry.

Console Gaming

Like you, console gaming on a large flat-screen television is one of our favorite pastimes, and we give equal attention to the Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Wii U. We haven’t lost sight of the Xbox 360, PS3 and Wii either, and we’ll keep you abreast of the upcoming Nintendo NX too. Our team pens walkthroughs, records Let’s Play videos and streams both pre-release and released gameplay.

PC Gaming

We believe that there doesn’t need to be chasm between PC and console gaming. In fact, if there’s any gap at all, it’s closing, and there’s often an overlap. Most AAA release for all platforms nowadays, but of course, there’s also a whole range of games that just work better with a mouse and keyboard than a controller. Those games deserve special from gamers who are just excited as you are to get their hands on an NVidia Pascal GPU.

Mobile Gaming

Our team isn’t afraid to embrace mobile gaming either. There may be a stark difference between the demographics of mobile gaming and traditional gaming, but there’s no denying that that pool is significant and mobile games are here to stay. Whether you spend a little to top your friends in Candy Crush or dive deep into the hottest games from Japan and Korea, our mobile experts have you covered.

Handheld Gaming

Some people would have you believe that handheld gaming is dead, but we’re not buying it. We love the Nintendo 3DS, 3DS XL and 2DS, and we know we’re going to love playing Mario and Zelda on the portable aspect of the Nintendo NX. We’re also Sony PSP and Vita fans, and there’s enough smoke that we’re following a story that may just end in the announcement of an all-new Sony handheld.

A Wide Range of Content

We offer a wide range of gaming content on a daily, weekly and monthly basis. When breaking news happens, you’ll know about it thanks to our Twitter feed and stories on the front page. Our team offers previews of your most anticipated games, and we provide those previews as written articles, podcasts and videos that include actual pre-release gameplay. We also take a lot of pride in our reviews, and we shy away from simple number scores because games can’t be reduced to just a single number.

The DWO Community

The DriftWoodOnline.com community is large and diverse, and we believe our magazine is better for it. We really embrace interaction with our readers, and we welcome you to be a part of that process. Like us on Facebook, subscribe to our Twitter feed, post a comment on an article or a video or create your own thread on our popular forums where our readers gather to share ideas.”
